Recently i bought a lens, that i was searching for a long time. Its the old rare russian Helios 85mm/1.5 portrait lens, a real monster with a strange twirl bokeh effect. I was very impatient to test it in some portrait session during the weekend, but, then i decided to take it at the 2nd color festival of Metaxourgeio-Kerameikos, in Athens. I used an adaptor and put the lens on my 5d mark ii, and it was quite a risk, since a prime 85mm lens is not ideal as a single option for shooting an event, but i just wanted to make some colorful portraits of happy people, and thats all. Last year at the 1st color festival i used the smc takumar 50mm/1.4 on my 5d mark ii, which i guess is a better option if someone wants to describe what is going on (but i guess a combined use of a wide and a tele lens would be ideal).
A sudden summer rain, before the main “color fighting” event begun, seemed to ruin everything, but thankfully, everything started with a couple of hours delay, so here is a sample of what happened
